Should you get Married because you are Pregnant?

There are a lot of young mothers or young pregnant mothers in the news lately such as Jamie Lynn Spears and Bristol Palin. When you read about either of these young women, one thing you often hear is that they are planning to get married. While I think that is great for them since it is their choice, I also hope it doesn’t send the wrong message out to some unwed expectant mothers. I wonder if they are wondering if they got married if their pregnancy might be more accepted. Yes, you might feel more accepted. Having a baby while married is seen more acceptable by much of society versus having a baby out of wedlock, but should you get married just because you are pregnant? I don’t think... Make ice cream from breast milk, says PETA

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has urged US ice cream makers Ben & Jerry's Homemade to replace cow's milk in ice cream products with breast milk."PETA's request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 per cent of the cow's milk in the food he serves," the animal rights group said.

PETA officials say a move to breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their calves on factory farms and benefit human health.

"The fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy products made from milk that was meant for a baby cow just doesn't make sense," PETA spokeswoman Tracy Reiman said.

"Everyone knows that the breast is best, so, Ben & Jerry's could do consumers and cows a big favour by making the switch to breast milk."

Ben & Jerry's said: "We applaud PETA's novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother's milk is best used for her child."

At first glance, Suri Cruise seems to be blessed with the perfect charmed childhood. But, sources tell Star, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' kid is trapped in an isolated bubble.

In the Oct. 6 issue of Star, on sale now, we talk to insiders who reveal that the 2-year-old girl, who often only interacts with her parents, leads a shockingly lonely life. Drinking in early pregnancy tied to cleft lip

Women who binge drink in the first three months of pregnancy have an increased risk of having infants with cleft lip and cleft palate, according to findings in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

"Some evidence exists that women who drink alcohol during pregnancy are more likely than nondrinkers to have infants with facial clefts," Dr. Lisa A. DeRoo and colleagues write, "but summarizing previous findings is hampered by different categories of drinks and time points of reference across studies."

Charlie Sheen's pregnant wife, Brooke Mueller, is apparently a quick healer following a trip to the hospital for emergency surgery.

Mueller, who is in her first trimester, had been dealing with mystery pangs for a month and, sources close to the couple tell E! News, had been fearful the pain was related to the baby.

Things got so excruciating that she needed to be admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center a little more than a week ago.

Doctors ultimately determined that Mueller required emergency gall-bladder surgery, an operation that can be risky during the early stages of pregnancy.

Social Networking for Babies

Call it convenient. Call it baby overshare. But a host of new sites, including Totspot, Odadeo, LilGrams and Kidmondo, now offer parents a chance to forgo the e-mail blasts of, say, their newborns first trip home and instead invite friends and family to join and contribute to a network geared to connecting them to the baby in their lives.

Its an interesting model, said Amanda Lenhart, a senior research specialist for the Pew Internet & American Life Project. Everyone can decide how much or little they want to know about a baby, which avoids the situation of receiving a few too many e-mails about someones wonderful child, and parents can decide how much they want to share in minimal or maximal ways.

But does the world really need online social networking for babies?
